I am leaving for Honolulu this morning, on a military
contract aircraft that will be flying in to Kwajalein
around 9:00AM this morning. Its a four and a half
hour flight from Kwajalein to Honolulu, and we should
be arriving at 5:30 PM, enough time to pick up a
rental car and check in to lodging at Hickam AFB.
First stop after that is McDonalds! I have had a big
mac attack in the making for the last 4 months!
Living on a desert island like I do, we don't have any
of the trappings you guys take for granted. No
McDonalds, Wendys, Burger King, Kentucky Fried
Chicken...nope, none of that stuff. I have to wait
until I get to Honolulu to eat some real restaurant
food and go faster than 25 MPH in a vehicle. I will
be in Honolulu for a week, flying back next Monday. I
am bringing 60 lbs of frozen Mahi and Ono with me for
my boys and my Mom and Dad. That just about cleans
out my freezer. While in Honolulu, I intend to visit
Hanapaa Fishing Supply, Pacific Ocean Producers, and
Charlies Fishing Store. Those guys sure like to see
me coming because they know I am going to spend
$200-$300 there. My wife will be coming with me, but
she will be going to Oregon on Friday, for two and a
half weeks. So when I get back to Kwajalein, I'll be
free to fish some more and fill up the freezer again!
Life is real good to me, ain't it? I'll have our
laptop along so I'll check Yahoo! for emails.
