I know this is a bit late. My auction for a nice eagle rattle carved from red cedar is almost over.only a few hours left. I have been down island at my mom's and now am busy with a homeless gathering. A little story. My granddaughter entered a little pay it forward contest on a vancouver raidio station. They had $500 that you could use to make someones life better. Katie decided that she would like to buy tents for the homeless people here in the comox valley, and..give them a picnic. Well....she won. What we thought would be a small give away has turned into "Katies Give" We have radio stations, newspapers, tv stations coming to the event. Money and items for the homeless are coming from all kinds of people and businesses local and not. The domations will be used by a group here who runs a drop in center for the homeless. They are all volunteer. The radio station, CFUN or now called the The Buzz is coming over to put on the BBQ and supplying all the food. It just goes to show....that a little caring can create something so much larger. I am very proud of my granddaughter Katie...and her father and mother. So, with less than a week to pull this all together I have been keeping very busy. lol I though a up story might brighten your day!! Hopefully this little story inspires others to do a little something for someone else....just because!! Have a wonderful day!! Thank you to all of you....Because of your support I am able to take the time to help. So..back to the carving. I put up my first carved salmon a few days ago. Lots of detail. My salmon also has a little fry with her. I love this carving..nice shape and detail. I hope all you mom's had a wonderful mothers day!! Howa...Carol
