If your son is going with you, you guys can stay at
the US Army Seward Resort. It's run by the US Army
and only active duty, reserve, and retired military
members can make reservations for it. The cost ranges
from $80.00 for a motel room (max 4 people) to a
townhouse (max 6 people)for $158.00, depending on his
rank. Officers and senior enlisted will pay more.
The resort has restaurant and recreational facilities.
They even have a fish cleaning area and facilities to
freeze your fish so you can take them back with you.
They also have 4 charter fishing boats. Its located
130 miles south of Anchorage in the Kenai Peninsula in
the town of Seward, Alaska. the link to their website
is www.sewardresort.com. They could probably turn you
on to some guides too. It's a very nice and
reasonably priced resort that's generally not
available to the public.
There is also a lot of fishing from the shore and in
the streams...
Aloha,
Les Saulibio
