I would like to ask a question of concern.I used to live in Westport CT. I liked catching flounder there and eating them.I noticed that they all had these little smelly balls that were dark green/black/brown. Then after eating them for several days I would be covered with itchy bumps. I was a kid so I did not think about it too much.
Afew years ago, here in Maine I was far offshore with my dad and we caught some fish that also had the same smelly balls in thier stomach cavity, loose, imbedded in the meat of the gut and in the stomach itself.. Boy was I covered with bumps! I can see the polluted water of Long Island Sound affecting the fish, But off the coast of maine!??! The water does not stink, does not look sick at all.Can anyone tell me what they are about?
