Fish biting at S.C. lakes
Catfish, crappie, hybrids and stripers at some South Carolina lakes appear to be providing the best angling action. The catfish and crappie are hitting best at Lake Wateree and the Santee-Cooper impoundments, Lakes Marion and Moultrie.
Hybrids and striped bass are most active at Lakes Hartwell and Thurmond.
In North Carolina, the upper end of Fontana Lake is yielding some sizable largemouth and smallmouth bass.
Coastal saltwater activity generally is the slowest it has been this winter, in part because of rough sea conditions. Fishing Forecast | Tom Higgins
